Private home in Köln Rodenkirchen

A building featuring a wide range of architectural qualities: the interior of this private residence encompasses spaces decorated with stucco alongside rooms with wooden panelling. Plain and simple spaces or even a corridor with a vaulted ceiling. What was required was a lighting concept for the entire house that would blend in elegantly with the sophisticated interior architecture and align with the design of the respective spaces. In addition, there were a number of functional requirements that needed to be fulfilled: the lighting options for the music room with a piano were naturally different from the concept required for the fireside lounge, which was all about creating a cosy atmosphere. There were also a number of paintings and sculptural works of art on the walls that demanded an adequate lighting solution.
Here, the lighting designer Helmut Linde from the Cologne office Kunstlicht used the Wall track system throughout the entire building to create a visually uniform overall picture. The simple system is aesthetic, modular and highly adaptive when it comes to meeting individual requirements. Given its filigree design it was possible to integrate the track into the stuccowork, thus render- ing it nearly invisible. Max-W, the most versatile spotlight from the LightLight collection, captures the spirit of the time in the different spaces and can be used for both accent and general lighting
